Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

greenfamily: I got our really cute glider/rocker from Craigslist. Everything else I bought new this time except for the bedding. I got it at a shop for baby/kids consignment items. I was glad to learn that it had belonged to the owner's granddaughter and she had never even slept on it. So it was new, but about HALF price!!

With my older DDs I got cribs from friends & co-workers, etc. If you ask around, post "Want to Buy"s on Facebook, etc, you'll find what you need that is decent/barely used, I guarantee.

rcentner: I bet that's it. I took maternity leave two weeks ago, and I've been doing a lot of napping/resting. However, I really could not have kept working. By 3-4pm I was so exhausted that I couldn't seem to think straight. For me, that is a HUGE patient safety issue! I was afraid I'd miss something that would either cause injury or prolong their healing, and I didn't want to risk that (or my license). I have been taking walks, but that's nothing compared to running for 12 hours on a busy hospital floor! Maybe I should force myself to deep clean the whole house...that might take 12 hours.

kelsey: you're stressin' me out, sister. Today is my due date, and if I'm not in labor, you can't be either.

LOL, Sorry.

But I really doubt I will go anytime soon, but today would be cool because it's National Star Wars day, and it would be funny if LUKE was born on Star Wars Day!

LOL...that would be perfect!

Off to the grocery store...would be just my style if something crazy happened, like my water breaking on the cereal aisle. I can hear it over the intercom now, "Clean up, aisle 8."

I just have to say I love my BFF. She picked me up a side of the road crib a few months ago. When DH and I set it up a week or 2 ago we noticed it was missing some parts, but nothing crucial so we were cool with it. (just that the rails didn't elevate which I guess cribs dont do that anymore for safety) so I figured even better right? So last week I am talking to my BFF on the phone and told her how it was missing stuff, but not a deal and that I was just happy to not have had to buy one. She texts me 2 hours later and says "I hope you're not mad cause I just bought you a crib." She is awesome, it was delivered today and we got it all set up and everything! It's beautiful and now we have a crib that matches the dresser!
I have a feeling that without Shelly this whole baby having thing would be a lot scarier since I know that only 4 miles away I have the best mother I know to ask for help.

so here's a pic of my newly redone nursery....minus curtains, which I will gladly take opinions on what color I should make the curtains

the walls are more green than they appear in the pics. nothin too fancy and it will need a rug atleast

oh and kelsey - I just had to share...the girl on my FB page that you asked about the bloody show has had her last 4 or 5 kids at home! That just amazes me...If I go into labor and can't make it to the hospital she is the 1st person I am calling

I wouldnt put curtains up on that window at all!! I would do maybe a valance across the top, in maybe something in the green family or another color that fits with your room. And maybe paint the trim another co-ordinating color (I like the white myself though). The scenery outside is TOOOO gorgeous to block out with curtains!! Unless that window gets hours of direct sunlight, I wouldnt worry about long curtains. And its a good thing if baby learns to sleep/nap with some light in the room, makes life soooo much easier when you are traveling- baby has already learned/gotten used to, sleeping in less than dark conditions.

Very cute nursery by the way! Love the belly pic!! How far along are you now?

Funny how window treatments are always the last things to go up. You are having a boy, right? I was going to suggest a lace valance, but that won't work. Pick a color that coordinates well from your bedding...a solid color valance.

I like the white trim, too!
