RFF: Glad to hear you finally have your mind eased, I really am sorry you had to go through all that. It is the number one reason I keep as far away from doctors as possible during pregnancy. Don't get me wrong, they have their role, I had an emergency and used a doctor with my first one, I just like to keep it as an emergency only option.
rcentner: Sounds like you are very close, have you ever heard of eating a "labor salad"? I've heard and read a lot about it, I'm planning on trying it about a week from now. I always enjoy pregnancy and never complain about it but DD coming 10 days late really was pushing it LoL. Supposedly the "active" ingredient is the romaine lettuce which is said to contain natural pitocin and IF you are really ready to go it stimulates labor. Here is the recipe: Either way, a salad can never hurt!
Half a cup of Romaine lettuce
Half a cup of watercress
Half a cup of red cabbage (Im not putting this one in as I dont eat cabbage very much and I am afraid it would give the baby colic) Instead I will use half a cup of parsley because I know this is a labor stimulator. Also parsley is full of iron and I have been told in helps with post partum hemorrhage (I have a problem with hemorrhaging). NOTE: Parsley should never be eaten in large amounts by women who are not close to their due date as it really will start labor, ready or not.
Many women put a balsamic on it, but from what I have read this make no difference, use whatever dressing you want. Another thing is that those amounts are for a single serving most women who have had success with this eat a whole lot more the half a cup of everything. I will probably eat it through the day.
To all the women who are close, best wishes for an easy labor and happy pushing!!
