' RFF! 1 oz is a VERY GOOD start!! Whether it was 1 oz from each, or 1 oz total....that is very good, and normal!! You just started, and she's has been eating off them AND your breasts need time to get used to all the feeding/pumping. It takes time! Its OK if she gets bottles for now- put ALL the milk you pump right into those bottles too!

At least there are a couple small upsides- You now know you are in fact producing milk, and Audrey (have I told you how much I like her name??

) is getting enough to eat and you can kinda measure it, which is convienient. Many, AMNY moms get frustrated quickly and think there is something wrong with them- there isnt!! It really does take time! DONT be stressed, just look at the situation like this- "My baby is being fed and is happy, I am trying to learn a new skill, and I WILL, and things will move forward just like they should. And in the end, all that REALLY matters is that we are happy and healthy." Give yourself more time and DONT pressure yourself- focus on the pure joy of your newborn, NOT what you are having trouble with. This is a very, very short time in her life, do all you can to enjoy it!!

Hang in there. I know it can be hard but thats not bad for a first pump. This might sound crazy but I tried it when I had milk issues with my DS. I got the idea from a friend who works in a natural mothercare store. She had a regular who ate almost 100% raw vegetarian and she had a 27lb seven month old who'd only ever had breast milk. So.... I made every snack during the day raw celery, apples, carrots etc. Sometimes I'd add nut butters. My breast milk production increased by 300%. No exaggeration. I also used fenugreek seeds in my tea. But as hard as it is try to relax. Keeping

for you!

Thank you guys! I just pumped again and got another 1oz, total. I plan to feed the breast milk to her first and then finish her off with a bottle. I think she's slowing down a little bit after going through a massive growth spurt this past week. It's hard to believe she's already 3 weeks old!

She's out-growing most of her newborn clothes already and moving into the 0-3 month size!

I've been making stacks of clothes she's out-grown and I'm sad to say she missed out on a few chicken-themed ones.

Anyway--here are some pics I took of her yesterday...

Note the double chin she's developed! HA!

Just to let everyone know, Daxton was admitted to the NICU in Temple yesterday. Once my milk came in, he lost all desire to eat and so I talked to my doctor about the problem. He ended up ordering a upper GI barium swallow and abdominal X-rays which all looked normal, but wouldn't order the barium enema which is used to diagnose Hirschprungs. He kept saying that it was probably just severe reflux and not Hirschprungs because he had several normal bowel movements, despite a family history of Hirschprungs (Dean and his sister both had it).

I kept pushing to have him looked at (Dax had refused to eat for over 12 hours... NOT normal) and finally he talked to a gastrologist who would see him next Thursday (!!!). That wasn't anywhere near good enough, so I asked him to try a different hospital and when he talked to that gastrologist, he wanted to see him ASAP.

We brought him up there last night, and he was admitted to the NICU and was found to have a hugely distended colon (a major sign for Hirschprungs). He's currently on IV fluids and is not allowed to have anything by mouth, but we may try breast feeding him tomorrow to see how he handles it.

He underwent a biopsy on his colon today to check for ganglionic cells; if there are no ganglionic cells found, he will have to undergo a more extensive biopsy to verify the diagnosis of Hirschprungs. We are looking at being in the NICU until at least next week, if not longer.

If he is diagnosed with Hirschprungs, he will need surgery to remove the affected portion of his bowel, and will likely need to remain in the NICU for a few weeks following surgery. We may be able to wait a month to six weeks to allow him to grow before he undergoes surgery, but that's unsure at this point in time.

Hope everyone else is doing well...

I'm still here.

No baby today.

We're making it to September.

I am measuring almost 38 weeks and my Dr. STILL will not change my c-section date to the 12th instead of the 19th. SHE thinks I'm not due until the 24th. In her mind, I'm only almost 37 weeks instead of almost 38 weeks. OH, and she said she wants baby girl to be born on the 19th because she thinks that's a cute birthday 9-19 ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??? ANY DAY THAT SHE GETS OUT OF ME WILL BE A CUTE BIRTHDAY.

I'm extremely cranky.

Time to get romaine lettuce and eggplant - because supposedly this induces labor? I'll wash it down with raspberry tea.

Springchickens - keeping your precious boy in our prayers here!
