No, she didn't say anything about effacement, which was disappointing. But, I went to the grocery and bought Romaine Lettuce and eggplant! (it worked for someone else on here, why not me?) guess what I'm having for dinner? lol I have been having mild contractions off and on for a few days, but nothing that feels like REAL change making contractions.

I seriously was happy to just hear there was dialation, even just a little bit, was encouraging!

I'm doing a lot of walking, too!

Yup, the dialation IS a good thing to hear! That you are having some contractions is a good thing too, means your body is really getting to work and getting serious about prepping for labor! Just let them do their thing- while they go on, envision your cervix opening, or being gently pulled open in a wider and wider circle. Hopefully you can get to 3 or more centimeters with little to no pain. Thats what happened with my first baby. Keep walking, try doing some squatting to get babys' head pressing on the cervix, and enjoy that salad!! (I heard parsely is a good one to toss in the salad too?). Next thing ya know, you'll be in real labor and posting some pics for us to 'Awwwwwww' over!

Yay Quail! Sending vibes for dialation.

: ) I was dialated to 4.5 centimeters for about 5 days before DD#2 showed up. It was quite nice to be almost half done without feeling it!

Does anyone know, is it OK to take a bath this late in pregnancy? I'd like to take a warm soak in my tub, to relieve some of my back pain?

suzettex5, I'm scheduled for a c-section on September 19, but if I have to wait that long I'll go crazy. Which is a big reason why I'm hoping to encourage labor - I don't care anymore if I have a c-section or vbac - i. just. want. her. out. lol

Yes, it is not recommended due to botulism contamination.

I know that you're technically not supposed to give honey to children under the age of 1 due to the potential risk of infant botulism because their digestive tract isn't developed enough to handle it. Sort of like chicks are more susceptible to coccidosis than the adult birds. I'm pretty positive that the fetus can in no way be harmed by the consumption of honey by the mother as we filter and process everything in our body before it reaches the baby. I'm more concerned about putting things made in a lab into my body but like I said I'm a hippie that way
