I agree with the chiropractor! I absolutely love mine! I've been seeing her for over a year, and boy did she make the transition into getting large a whole lot more tolerable! As for relief at home, the only thing that even remotely eases anything for me is to just put a pillow behind my lower back while sitting on the couch

Good Morning Ladies!
big_smile.png

So, I’m 35 weeks and 3 days today – had another appointment this morning. Weight gain is good, blood pressure was great, she’s measuring right where she should be, heart rate was 150, etc. Baby girl clearly moves more than the average bear, because again, the doctor stood there watching for a few minutes while she was pushing feet and whatever else she felt necessary out, haha! She is still head down, which is good – anddd drum roll – I am 3 cm dilated and 70% effaced, ALREADY! FYI, I think the world will be shocked if she makes it to be a November baby. Guess I should start coping with the bummer of an October birthday. All the girls at work are already taking bets on when I go – they’re convinced it should be October 12th, because that’s the next full moon

Mean, mean. Like I told DH, that hospital bag needs to get in the works tonight, just to be safe! But like the doctor said, I could go into labor tomorrow or I could stay where I’m at for a month – there’s really no telling. But good gracious I am feeling some aches today! Trying not to excite myself and call them contractions, but I'm sure it's just my body being aggervated about being completely violated this morning

I had my first crouch check this morning, as well as the strep swab, and I'm not dilated or effaced at all. He did say things were starting to soften up and that she would probably be sticking around for the rest of the 5 week duration. Oh, for the strep swab - the picky swab part is not very pleasant. If you had one, was it like a little wirey brush thingie?

While he was checking her heart rate and position, which he believes is head down, he said I was having contractions. I told him that everything was tight feeling and sort of sore today. I guess that is why.

For my edema, he says that I need to lay on my side for a couple hours a day if I'm at home and 3-4 hours if I work that day. Wow. I'm not going to get anything done at this rate!!! Hubby works 12 hour shifts and is currently on night shift, so anything house related is my job right now. I guess I need to break down and ask for some favors from my mother and MIL.

In the meantime, I'm feeling really stressed. Hubby's insurance has changed and now that we are 5 wks away from having a baby, we find out that his new insurance is not paying nearly as much as the old insurance. I got the bill for just my OB today and it was nearly $2000. Hospital costs are extra. I don't know how we're going to get that paid - they want it before the baby is born.

I think mine was just like a giant cotton swab, like what they shove down your throat if you have strep throat... but I agree, very unpleasant. It actually hurt when she did the vag swab

But at least it is done and over with. They took more blood too, to check for anemia and all that good stuff.

I've been having cramps and I'm guessing they're still BH since I left the office this morning - she certainly threw me out of whack today. And of course, everyone here at work is convinced she got things moving

They just want the baby to hurry up and get here!

I'm so sorry to hear about your insurance situation. Will certainly say a prayer that everything transitions smoothly and they work with you as much as possible!

Most times if you talk to them and tell them what's going on, they will be more than willing to let you make monthly payments or whatnot. Hoping they will, you don't need the additional stress

I keep lurking to see if the ladies due after me have had their babies yet, but I've been posting my updates in the new human baby thread.

Peyton is 2 weeks old today!

Good luck to all you ladies who'll be going soon!
