Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Thank you so much for your responses! I usually make my DH lift the food bags anyway, so that isn't a problem

And we also share the chicken-keeping responsibilities pretty equally, so he knows where everything is. I'm so glad I won't have to cut down on my chicken duties- being with my chickies is great therapy! We are hopeful for an IVF miracle this coming month

I took my glucose test and had my rhogam shot. Found out that I gained 6lbs. That lemon-lime drink for the glucose isn't to bad. Had just a slight nasty after taste. I think since it was so cold it made the flavor less strong. I don't know my results yet from it.

I got the surprise of finding out that they give you the rhogam shot in your butt. I can't remember the last time I had to get a shot in the butt. Didn't bother me though but my husband said it looked painful since the needle was extra long and the woman rammed it in deep.

The nesting instincts took over and I wasn't going to wait on my husband to help me rearrange the other room. Knowing him it would of been the week before my due date. I probably did more than I should have but I wanted it done. Some stuff I'll have my FIL help me with tomorrow. I tried to slide the heavy stuff around instead of lifting it. I got most of the really heavy stuff figured out at where I want it. My husband keeps saying the baby is staying in our room but our room is crowded. I want an area in the other room to store all the clothes and diapers or have room to clear out our room. I also want the table cleared off so I can finish sewing some stuff. Hard to sew something and have your fabric bunched up against the wall on the dresser.

Reveriereptile- I feel you. The only difference between us right now is that for the most part we are already set up just by moving DS into his new Big Boy Bed. I ended up venting my organizing urges on the downstairs rec room/catchall for messes and the spare bedroom which currently is being converted into a brooder room for my new business. I am trying to get rid of all the extra stuff we have accumulated over the last 8 years and it is rather daunting. I am using the 'have I used this in the past 2 years and am I likely to want to again in the next 5?' rule. If the answer is no and no then it goes into the sale pile. We have a LARGE sale pile starting up. Everything from cloths to books to small electronics (the worst are when we find things that we never even took out of the packaging but it ended up in a storage box). I might even get an empty closet or room to park the car in the garage when I am done.

I think one reason my husband isn't wanting to help clean to much is we are going to start building a house in early April. I think he doesn't want to waste a bunch of time when we will be moving out probably a couple months after the baby is born. He has never had much experience with babies so I think it will be a big shock for him. I've at least helped my sister the first year. He doesn't understand how helpful having at least the baby's stuff organized is.

I did get my glucose results and I have to take the 3 hour test. Not looking forward to it but at least I know the drink doesn't taste to bad nor does it make me sick. I'll just bring a book with me to read.

I'm still refusing to get the glucose test this time around. lol

My hubby doesn't understand my need to pain the room and such either. He helps me when I ask for it but he mostly just stays out of the way. Course we are having a girl this time and I think he's been assaulted with as much pink frill as he can stand. When he found out the bedding had naked cherubs on it....classic. lol

Irony is I will be fighting my DH and the rest of my family on the frill and pink quantities if we have a girl next time around. My sisters daughter is almost 15 and she was the last girl born on my side.

I'm a contradiction in terms. You can often find me out working in the barn and such in a dress and heels. What can I say. So my little girl is going to wear beautiful clothing while I can force her into it. I'm just praying she doesn't turn out to be the jeans and sneakers type as it might kill me.

I am so excited, tomorrow we find out what we are having. It feels like only yesterday that I had to wait a few months to find out and now its here!!

Yay!!! It feels like it takes forever to get to that point! Be sure to let us know when you find out!

Ok we went to our sonogram today and was kept in suspense till the very end. The tech kept saying she couldn't see much, it was sitting Indian style, she couldn't get a reading for its spine or kidneys so we though we'd have to wait to find out what we are having. But at the last minute the tech smiled and asked if anyone was suspicious of it being a boy. Because she is almost 100% positive that's what it is. I even saw it on the screen, there was no way of doubting that. After the tech announced it, my DH with a big smile on his face said Finally! He was so excited that he called his family right away, only his grandfather answered but he said he could here him yelling "Yes a boy!" It has been a long while in both families that a boy has been born. My girls are a little disappointed they wanted another sister, but I am glad my DH finally gets his little boy. My oldest DD wants to announce it on facebook after school, she is really excited about the baby, even if it is a boy.

Now time to clear out all the girl baby clothes and make room for the boy stuff!
