Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Well it's official I had my blood test yesterday (+) and I go in tomorrow to do all the paper work, not looking forward to finding how much this baby will cost, since we are self employed and have a individual health policy it doesn't cover maternity. Anyone else in my shoes?

I had a baby shower with my twins scheduled about around 36 weeks (extremely late for twins, I even warned the hostesses) sure enough I had the babies days before and couldn't even go to the shower, lol! I think it's best to plan early, just in case.

Mine is going to be March 6th. I will be 35 weeks then. Kind of late I think but I am not doing it and just glad to be having one. Hope I will be able to be there! lol

Newlyweds-

I'm in the same boat w/no insurance. Self employed too. Kinda scary. Check out a few pages back and you should find a link to the AIM program (not sure if it exists in Texas). It has some pretty decent income guidelines. I think I may be having to go that route myself. You may be able to just google AIM program and find their income guidelines and application info.

I have no idea. I think I've heard 5 months earliest but usually 7 months...and then someone else said it's "bad luck" to have them so early that the baby wouldn't survive if born premature?" I have no idea, honestly.....although around here a baby born earlier than 37 weeks is flown out to Spokane because we don't have the resources to keep them alive, apparently, if they are born too soon.

WOW! All of my mothers 4 babies were born befor 37 weeks and were sent home right on time like all babies with no problems except for the one that was 32 weeks and they just kept him to make sure he was gaining weight.
That was back in the 70s though lol.

my 35 weeker did great but he did end up with jaundice. You just never know until they are born. My last one was 33 weeks and 6 days and did great too, but he didn't have his sucking reflex yet so he had to stay in the hospital until he could nurse or drink from a bottle

zofran is the only thing that worked for my last pregnancy. I couldn't function without it. I dont even like taking tylenol

There are wrist bands that can help... They helped me, the one issue is that you have to keep them exactly placed on the pressure point or you get nada out of them.

Otherwise just staying away from foods with strong flavor/smell or that have a 'heavier' feeling helps.
