She is really grossed out by sour right now, but I did get her life savers and those seem to help mildly.

Poor girl... Hope you find the band and it helps her. I have been lucky, I'm 11 weeks and haven't had any sickness.. *knocks on wood*

And poor you! The flu royally suxs....

Thanks. I haven't had a fever like this in ages. I gotta go look for those bands though, I cannot imagine feeling sick 24/7. I never had a moment of illness when I was pregnant.

I agree with everyone about the sea-bands..they really do help. Ginger is helpful too, if you dont mind the taste. Pears have been helpful for me this pregnancy, dont know why, they just are.
Sometimes, when I feel really gross, I mentally remind myself that the sick feeling is a GOOD thing- it means the pregnancy is a strong one and all those nasty hormones causing the sickness are making sure my baby is growing and things are progressing well.

Also, try googling 'morning sickness menu'- I cant find the link to the site that has it, but it has some good suggestions. I also always try to follow my cravings, but I never indulge fully, or I just end up feeling worse.

This preg has been weird for me- I havent told my hubby yet about it (I'm 8 weeks now) so I have to try to hide all my symptoms for now. Fatigue is hitting kinda hard, but I find that the more I go outside and do physical labor, I have far, far fewer symptoms!

I hope you feel better very soon Deb, the flu SUCKS!! Your soo lucky you didnt have morning sickness!

Yes the Sea Bands WORK! Using those helped a lot. It didn't take away all of the queasiness but since buying them I haven't thrown up.

Ginger Ale (the kind made with real ginger, Canada Dry) helps, too. Drink LOTS of water. But NOT on an empty stomach. I also used to sip water while eating and then follow dinner with a big glass or two. Early on, I couldn't drink anything other than water and occasionally, ginger ale. The very thought of milk grossed me out.

Snack, snack, snack. Anytime I had an empty stomach, I was way worse.

Some of the things I would eat:
a 100 calorie bag of kettle corn. The salt helped. Wheat Thins, saltine crackers, peanut butter toast, plain toast (with a tiny bit of butter), a chunk of cheese, bananas, nectarines.

Stay away from acidic foods (coffee, chocolate, citrus fruit). Protein REALLY helped me.

Rest too. Sometimes I can tell when I'm overdoing it I get kind of dizzy, weak and sick-feeling....

Oh and avoid fast food. I got the WORST food poisoning a few weeks back from Taco Hell (I really wanted a cheese quesadilla) and let me tell you....being preggo and not feeling well sucks as is....throw some explosive diarrhea that hits you mid-shopping trip in the middle of Wal-Mart and your day really sucks! LOL

Seriously, not trying to be insensitive but I had to laugh when it looked like you were describing me!

I think I have an undiagnosed case? LOL Seriously I poop like 6-10 times a day as is...a slow day would be 4. The doctor didn't seem too alarmed?

It's highly inconvenient and seems to have gotten worse (at least the urgency has) since being pregnant. Probably TMI, I know...but this was for sure food poisoning in this instance. About 20 minutes after eating, my stomach started ROLLING. And then I had some cramping...and got hot/cold chills, dizzy, explosive diarrhea...and then I felt sick the rest of the afternoon.

Maybe I need a cheese quesadilla then.... Explosive or not, I would just like to go. I have eaten and taken everything the doc has told me to, and it hasn't helped.

Just make sure the cheese isn't all the way melted and it's cool to the touch...and that whoever made it probably didn't wash their hands. I think all of those elements are key! LOL

Have you tried eating more leafy greens and fiber? What about beans?
smile.png
Frosted mini wheats are one of my favorites....chili works, too if you can stand the spices...

If ya need help going potty...prunes or dried fruit will often help alot. If your going too much, consider looking up celiac diesease- it has ALOT of symptoms, but is very often not diagnosed. I've noticed since being preg this time, I just cant eat certain foods without paying the porceline god later that day....NOT fun at all.

Why do our bodies betray us when we're pregnant??? Youd think things would get better since we are usually trying so hard to be more healthy...not fair!

Leafy greens, beans, those new Fiber Gummies, fresh fruit, dried fruit, Ducosate (makes me feel like crap), Miralax, nothing seems to help much at all. I might go every 4th day if I am lucky. I see the doc again the 28th.. She will hear all about it!!!!
Plus, whenever I travel, it's usually inevitable that I get potty trouble. I have been traveling out of state to chicken shows every 2 weeks eating out and eating whatever greasy mess they offer at the shows... Now that I would welcome something as dreadful as Diarrhea, I can't even manage to get it when I try! I just wanna go potty!!

Isn't it strange how pregnancy can make grown women disuss potty issues on open forum??!!
