Yep.. I can only imagine. It almost happened to me a few times and I did not like it AT ALL!!!

I have that debate, and the internal debate on whether or not I *really* need a shower. I regularly throw up right when I get out of the shower (the change in temperature does it, I think).

Luckily for all my colleagues, my brain wins these debates and not my stomach

Imagine... having an actual debate with yourself every morning whether brushing your teeth is reeeeaaaally necessary because you know you WILL throw up immediately. Much fun.

I was able to brush my teeth just fine, it was watching or hearing DH's grandma brush her teeth, or eat that made me throw up, and only with her, being next to hubby while he brushed his teeth was no problem, it was just his grandmother who I take care of.

Kelseygirl-

When do you get the results of you gestational diabetes test back? Hope all is well. I dont know what I would do if I couldnt have my sugar and junk food!

Hey Girls- Lets have some fun!

Share some of the old wives tales you have heard of about pregnancy!

How about the one that says if you have lots of heartburn, your baby will have lots of hair!

Or the one that says if you get all bloated and your skin on your face goes to hell, you are having a baby girl! (cause girls 'steal' the moms beauty)

Carry high, its a boy, carry low, its a girl.

I don't want to be a downer here but let me just throw something out to you gals with your gestational diabetes tests. Last year when I was pregnant with Ethan I failed my first GTT (by 1 number) and had to do the 3 hour fasting test. I just knew I was going to fail that one too, but I got a call from my OB's office saying I had passed it. So I ate anything and everything my sweet tooth wanted me to eat. Then when Ethan was born (@ 9lbs, 15oz) he wound up being hypoglycemic and had to stay in the NICU for 6 days because he couldn't keep his blood sugar up. The neonatologist questioned my GD results so I called my OB and asked for my numbers. They were so high that it barely passed as normal, but no one told me this.

So I'm guessing that I probably did develop GD after I had that last test done and went through the rest of my pregnancy undiagnosed with it.... and my baby suffered as a result of it. If y'all even think you might have it, ask for your actual numbers and ask your doctors if, even if you "pass" but your numbers are in the high zone, if you need to alter your diet. It's no fun being discharged from the hospital without your baby, and it is beyond scary to think babies can die from uncontrolled GD.

I had that problem with my youngest. It was when the saliva and toothpaste built up. I would do sections. I would do the top right front. Then rinse, then the top right back, then rinse etc.

IT took FOREVER, but I did not have to keep rebrushing because I would throw up after lol.

That happened to me a few weeks ago too, only it was Applebee's, and I had violent vomiting along with the explosive diarrhea... you know, the kind where you're throwing up into a trashcan while sitting on the toilet. We hadn't even gotten out of the parking lot when my stomach felt funny. Good thing I decided to head home instead of going to Walmart like I had planned! Thank God I'm not pregnant now. But I once had a terrible stomach virus when I was 8 months pregnant. That was the absolute pregnant PITS, and it lasted for days.

to all you preggers suffering with morning sickness. I'm like Debi and with all 5 of my babies I never had more than some queasiness. Can't imagine how awful bad morning sickness must be...

This last pregnancy was the only one where brushing my teeth would cause me to gag. I never threw up but I gagged every time I brushed. It wasn't fun and I don't know what I would have done if I actually did throw up... seems kind of pointless to change morning breath for stomach acid breath... I guess breath mints are a MUST in that situation.

Well, we know that last one is not true since I always carry scary low and both times it was a boy.

I was told you should never let a cat get close to your new born cuz it will steal its breath away. I don't have any cats but that one always gets me!

Oh, and you should never sleep with your arms raised over your head or the baby will get the cord wrapped around its neck. I was told that by a cousin that was younger than me and she never slept that way and her boy was still delayed because they didn't know the cord was around his neck for several hours. Had to do a c-section. Forgot to ask her how that happened since she was so careful lol.
