I must have the weirdest pregnant shape. I've always read that you wear the same size in maternity clothes as you do when not preggy, but that NEVER works for me! I normally wear a size 7 or 9 in jeans, but I always end up in large or extra large jeans in maternity sizes. I think its because I am kinda petite (I'm 5 foot 2 ) so everything is always too long in regular sizes, but in actual petite sizes, my butt and tummy NEVER fit unless they are a large or extra large.
When it comes to maternity clothes, my rules are- Never buy until I need too, and ALWAYS try them on before buying (oh, and those 'tummy pillows' are SOOOO not representative of your tummy/body futher along, they seem to forget our butts and thighs grow too!). I also try very hard to buy things with color- its out of character for me to deviate from browns and blacks, but sometimes a bright color or pattern will really lift your mood when your having a "I feel fat and ugly" day!
Look in your local childrens thrift/resale shops too- you can get some great bargains since most maternity clothes are gently worn, you can find pieces that can compliment your new purchases from regular stores.
I love leggings as well! They come in several lengths and you can wear long sweaters or long shirts, or even dresses over them (thats actually kinda in style right now anyways, preggy or not!)
My news for the day is... we went to the Dr today and got to see baby on ultrasound! They gave me a due date of Sept 29th, pretty much what I figured. Didnt find out sex (too early for their machine, it was a kinda old machine), but I will find out soon. Have to go back tomorrow for blood tests and have another round of stuff to take care of later this month and early next month.
Since seeing the baby move and its heart beating I have gotten kinda excited about this baby!
