Short version....Your coworker is an idiot!!!
I'm 2 weeks behind you and have only gained 8. Yes, twice what you have gained. But I am not showing either. And I also am still in my low rise jeans. I do believe I am feeling movement though. Had I not felt the "bubble" and then grabbed my doppler to see where the baby was... I wouldn't have known for sure it was the baby moving... But as soon as I put the doppler to the area the bubble came from, I heard the heartbeat. The bubbles are so minimul feeling, you can seriously miss, or mistake it for something else. Don't worry mama, everything is fine! Can't wait to see a pic of your little baby!
Thank you! Another thing is that I was so sick for the first few months I could barely keep anything down besides water and crackers for awhile. They say you should gain 25lbs just in baby, fluid, breast tissue, etc when you're pregnant. My MIL gained 19lbs with one kid and 25lbs with the other--while my mom gained about 60lbs with all three of us...I think it depends on genetics and what you eat and how much you exercise...I bought myself a pedometer that I wear to work and I've been tracking how much I walk each day...most days it's over 2 miles!
I lost 9 pounds in the begining and I don't think I was back to my starting weight until week 20 something, so now I have technically only gained 5 lbs since the beginning and I'm 33 weeks! Nurse was actually a little upset because I hadn't gained at my last appointment, but I have been sick, and had no appitite, so I had to force myself to eat.
