Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Ms.FuzzyButts :

I am back from my 20 week anatomy ultrasound.. The doctor said everything looked good. But..... I will be having another ultrasound in 8 weeks because the baby refused to position itself well enough for them to get a real good look at the heart.. The tech had to chase the baby around the whole time. It wiggled and wiggled, but just wouldn't cooperate... So she had me sit up for awhile to see if the baby would reposition itself.. It didn't!! Well, it didn't reposition good enough for a heart shot anyway.. But it finally gave an itty bitty peek! And, It's a Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I had my Baby shower on Saturday, it was absolutley amazing we got soooo much stuff I don't even know where to start when I look at the pile in the garage that needs to come inside, LOL! Then on Sunday we my parents came up and helped us move most of the old house over to the new one, all that is really left at the old place is hubby's garage junk. My parents were a big help re-setting up the nursery, now we just need to hang a few things, paint and hang the shelves, and get all the baby shower stuff put away. I'll post pictures of the shower as soon as I find my memory card reader

Here is a 36 week picture, just before we left for the shower.

On a side note (TMI WARNING) , Those of you who already have children, did you get diarrhea
before labor? I've had very loose stool since Friday, and it's getting old, lol. People keep saying it could be my body clensing itself out to get to get ready for labor.

Kelseygirl,

Yep, the trots are a good sign of impending labor! Be GRATEFUL for them!! That way you have less chance of poopin on the delivery table during the pushing phase! (yes, the nurses expect it, and yes its TOTALLY normal, but who wants to do that with an audience???) Are you dialated or effaced at all? Those are good signs too. With all the moving and setting up you have going on, I'm betting your 'nesting instinct' is being fufilled too! LOL!

Watch for your lower back having a feeling of fullness, or pressure (not so much pain since that can just be regular preg pain), and I cant remember if you said if you lost your mucus plug (aka bloody show, which isnt always bloody, but can be just LOTS of sudden, thick mucus), but thats a good sign your cervix is opening and ripening for delivery.
If youre getting Braxton Hicks contractions, they can turn into labor if they get stronger and hurt more, and dont go away after a few hours or with changes in your position.

I think you still have a week or 2 before DD, right? I hope you dont deliver too soon (sorry, I know it sucks to hear that, LOL), baby does better after delivery when its had the full 39-40 weeks. (had a baby at 37 weeks, BIG difference from my other 40 weekers, but still healthy, just smaller, which was weird for me since I usually have 8 pounders, so a 6 pounder seemed TINY!!)

Yay! How exciting! I can't wait to do the anatomy scan - I'm jealous! ((But I'm hoping for a wiener, tehe!)) Even though I think I'm going to get the alternative.

But still CONGRATS!

It's ok, I was hoping for a boy too. That's what I have wanted since I was a little girl. But once you get the ultrasound and see that sweet little face, everything else goes out the window... Besides, baby girl clothes are sooooo much cuter!

I can't believe some of you are getting so close! And I can't believe my baby is 8.5 months old already! We're talking about a second...my depo runs out next week, so I kind of have to hurry up and make a decision.

I still have 3 weeks 5 days to go, until DD, although my later ultrasounds put DD a week earlier, but doc didn't want to move DD, just thinks it will be a bigger baby. I don't know if I am dilating or effacing yet, Doc still hasn't done a vaginal exam. I have had increased mucus off and on, that reminds me of the egg white mucus you get when your ovulating, but I don't know that that is muscus plug? I don't think I notice when I am having a braxton hicks, sometimes I think I do. I have been having light period like cramps off and on for a couple weeks that doc says are most likely BH contractions. I also have noticed more back pressure off and on, this morning it was pretty bad, and I wondered if it could be contractions, as for back pain, I always have that now, lol. MIL said I would go today or this up coming weekend. Her mother had all her kids on the full moon which is today or 3 days after DD. Then MIL, BIL and DH were all born on Easter weekends, so MIL and DH think he will come this weekend, and as much as I am ready to have him on the outside finally, I don't know that I am ready, still have a lot to do!!!

For whatever reason, I would figure they would give you an enema at the first signs of labor... guess I was wrong
