Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

I'd say either evening (6pm) with hamburgers, etc. or brunch is fine. I don't think grilling is tacky at all, especially if its informal.

If you really want to, you might also see if you can rent a room/hall at a local facility - my DH's family tends to do that sort of thing at the local Elks lodge that they're members at. A local hotel might have a conference room you can rent relatively cheaply, too.

We had our baby shower mid-July for our first. We had a baby shower luau with around 40 guests (male and female since I didn't want the typical shower with girly games). We started around 4:30-5:00 pm with beer, wine, cocktails, a huge fresh fruit selection, and some backyard games (cornhole and horseshoes). We then had a buffet-style dinner with hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, pasta salad, etc. Like you said, people didn't eat a ton because of the heat. Then we had cake and key lime pie (my hubby's favorite) for dessert. We (okay, my parents) decorated with tiki torches and paper lanterns throughout the backyard. I have to say, I was very pleased! Plus, it's easy to find luau decorations in July!

So yes, an evening event can definitely be accomplished in July!

Welcome!! We're glad to have you on board.

There's a spreadsheet in the first post if anyone wants to put their due date information on there!

Thank you! Your due date is my birthday!

Ok, so I am procrastinating writing an article, and just added *weeks pregnant* to our spreadsheet. I can't figure out how to make it do days instead of a decimal (i.e. 37 weeks 1 day instead of 37.2 weeks), but I figure this will be good enough...

Ok, on to my paper *sigh*

Blah! I have my baby shower cmming up on May 29th ( due july 12). This is baby number 3 for me. And of course the time when my dear friend and I are planning it my gram in law, mother in law, and mother are all butting in. Plus with drama on the in laws side, I'm actually not looking forward to it at all

I'm making the cake which I am excited about. It's going to be a brunch theme with brunch foods and mocktails.

I'm seriously considering making it an adult toy party just so everyone wont be so crabby!

I'm still here. Last night was horrible, kept waking up from hot flashes that had me sweating, and I think I was having some contractions again, as my back was really bothering me. Then this morning I feel horrible, so tired and nauseous...

I think today will be a nap day.

How are you feeling Happy?

No kidding! How long is the doctor going to give you to go on your own? Hang in there... it won't be for too much longer!

Kelsey, you've got to be sooo close too! I wish there was such a thing as labor dust so I could send some in all of your directions - sounds like you need it!!
