Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

I'm sorry. I know how frustrating it can be to wait!

Looks like some babies are coming soon on here!!! Still no word on our second adoption- we are keeping busy with DD and the farm in the meantime...
Oh and we added a facebook page to our website- I would really appreciate any "likes" or "shares" from my fellow mama/soon to be mamas! Its under "links" on our regular website.

weird question-
Does anyone know anything about donating or exhanging breastmilk? I am trying to plan for aoption number two a little better than number one! We had a short match and I wasnt able to get anything organized in time. The wait for a second child is usually longer so I am trying to get things in line. I dont think I will be able to do the adoptive breastfeeding protocols (yes, you read that right!) with chasing a toddler around so I am looking into donated breastmilk.
Has anyone done this or heard of anyone doing this? I am just starting to research. Should I post this as a new subject? I feel weird about asking the general group about something so very very mommy oriented...

krote - wouldn't it be funny (awesome) if we delivered on the same day! I did let my midwife check me at my appointment and I've dilated a little more to 3cm and my cervix is very ripe. Today, I am having decently strong contractions (starting to get uncomfy), but they are not close enough together yet. My midwife thought I'd have baby within the next few days, but, of course, we won't know for sure! I just keep thinking -- keep on dilating before I actually go into real labor!

My hubby started a new job today and may be a good hour or more away from home, depending on what he's doing. So just a little nervous that I can make it until he's home tonight.

I would love to have my baby the same day as you... as long as it's before my due date

I will tolerate none of this overdue business! I had an appointment this morning, all is the same. Boring. Where the heck is this labor!?!?!?

When are you ladies that are close actually due? Just curious!

I am 17 weeks tomorrow, cooking along just fine. It's still a girl!

I can't believe I'm this far...I feel like I just found out I was pregnant! Chasing a toddler and working 70 hoursa week makes the time fly by! I am taking a break next month and going on a cruise with a girlfriend of mine that I haven't seen in a year though - should be a blast! I plan on scaring the general public by putting my pregnant belly in a bikini.

Due next Saturday, the 3rd! I can't believe that you are 17 weeks already, yippeeeeee! A cruise sounds lovely, I would be frightening the general public in a bikini as well at nearly 39 weeks. YIKES!

Well, little Mr. Alden is here!!!! : ) His full name is Alden Ellis Keith (we went with two middle names). He arrived on Tuesday, February 21st at 11:31pm. I went the natural childbirth route again (hospital birth). It all went very, very well! I had been having irregular, but more intense contractions for most of the day. At about 5:00pm, they were about 10 minutes or so apart. So I wasn't sure if they'd stop or continue to get worse. I decided to go on about my way and go to Bible study, which started at 6:30pm. I was probably only there for about a half hour and decided it was probably in my best interest to go home because they were not going away and were closer together. Hubby usually goes with me, but had a late night at work, so my friends took me home (only five minutes from home). Hubby got home at 8:00ish and I decided that we should probably go in. So my aunt came and picked up the girls, I called my midwife, we got everything taken care of around here and were on our way. We arrived at the hospital at 9:15pm. As hubby turned off the car in the maternity parking lot, my water broke. Hooray!!! I went into triage and when they checked me I was at 5cm, 90% effaced and, of course, my water had broke. So I had dilated 2cm in one day -- had my check up with my midwife the day before. Labor progressed quickly. Alden was born at 11:31pm that night. So a little over two hours in the hospital was not too shabby!

He is doing very well! Breastfeeding is going great -- probably the best out of all three of my kids.

He weighed 7lbs 2oz and he was 18.5 inches long.

And to answer KellyHMs question, I was due March 5th. I've always gone early with my kids and he was no exception. : )

Welcome to little Alden!
I am 23 weeks now!! Time is going fast!
A couple from our church flew to CA yesterday to pick up their 3-day-old baby boy!

They have been married for 14 years and have tried fertility treatments and numerous other options. She was pregnant once, and lost the baby at 9 weeks, so they decided that was apparently not in God's plan for them. They finished their adoption paperwork 3 years ago, and have been waiting patiently to be chosen, and it finally happened! I am so excited for them! They are an inspiration to me-never bitter, always accepting everything as it came and yet being first in line to hold the new babies and congratulate everyone else on their new baby. They named him Jed Stephen.

What a great story!! our DD was born in California too. I remember that flight home to NC after the papers were signed and we were cleared to leave! Now we are in the big wait to adopt again. I wonder every day how long it will be, and how it will go, and who this little person and his/her first family will be...

Give them a huge hug! Its such an amazing moment to realize that you are FINALLY a parent.

WELCOME ALDEN!
