Still counts though!I OUTSMARTED HIM! That's not saying much about me...![]()
Hugs to you Wind!Welp, it had to happen. Took a while though, several months, but I fell.
Carrying a large cage to use as a brooder for the new chick and soon to hatch duckling, wasn't paying attention, and stumbled in a hole the dog had dug.
Landed pretty heavy on my right side. Think a sharp rock got me in the rump. And I twisted my neck and now have a headache.
Otherwise, I'm fine. No cuts or broken bones.
Oh, the cage mostly survived too.
Still have a stiff neck and a headache from my fall. Bruising is developing on my rump. Sleep was difficult. Chores are difficult.
I think you made the right decision Wind, you don't know the health of this bird or how it will effect your flock. You can't fix the mistakes others have made as sad as this situation is. You did well.Last night, just past 10:30, as I was about to go to bed, I got an incoming text. Turned out to be someone replying to one of my sales ads online. BUT, this girl was trying to GIVE me her duck! She sounded desperate too, even offered to pay me.
I could tell she was young, and I felt really bad for the duck. She has it inside her apartment, and alone.
Not wanting to be just as irresponsible since I'm over-crowded this year with not being able to free range them (instead of a muddy field my yard is this year a lush jungle of weeds taller than me!), I thanked her and said no.
Been thinking about it and I really don't know if I should have accepted for the sake of the duck and then tried to rehome it, but my feed bills are already through the roof, ducks are crowded, I have no idea what the health of this bird is, and honestly I'm afraid it might be someone trying to scam me and get my address.
