Mine get an average of 6 but leaning much more towards 7. It's never been a deciding factor for me. No drop in production as Faverolles should be known for winter eggs.
I have 4 new blue chicks from this past weekend. I have 5 blk only... from the lav/self blue. They have the best fav characteristics of the 7 that hatched. I have no idea why I have them.
Within these blk chicks could be splits so when bred together they
might produce lav/sefl blue they would be 50% fav. This could drone on forever trying to get the color wanted if this is an example of ratio. However, I am thrilled with the number of hatch . 7 of 8 from splits and 8 of 10 blue/blk/spl/wht ( the party package
) pen. Last hatched on day 23 1/2. Slow but better hatch rate from what I got last spring through Sept.
I have a set back in the blue production. She's broody.
I have 1 salmon pullet and 1 feral thinking very hard about it. Don't care about the salmon as they're not penned and won't be for quite a while yet. But it's the thought that counts. Quick, hurry their not only rare, they lay and go broody too.
not ready from the cooker yet so to speak.
Having to be tough at the hatcher on things I want for the future gens of what I'm hatching. Blue and lv/sb split. Interesting though.
Hope all are having fun.

Peter, Just to touch on the BLUE subject...I happen to be producing several, very consistant birds. You've viewed them. Do you think mine would be a possibility for starting NoSkiveez??
