My son has lovely reliable laying Pekins that we both love but they -- particularly the little crested female -- are very noisy

I am not permitted to keep ducks in my neighborhod and could never get away with noisy Pekins.

This year I rescued a Muscovy and took in three more rescued ducks [Two Muscovy and one male crested Pekin] from a rehabber. The male crested Pekin does make a noise but not loud; one of the Muscovies is a female htat chatters low key. But basically, these birds are quiet and do not draw attention to themselves.

I vote Muscovy for their quietness!!

Dutch Hookbill is hands down my favorite. I fell in love with them when I was little and loved their bill (it reminded me of the plague masks). I always thought they looked like something out of a fairytale. A few years ago I found a breeder who I purchased hatching eggs from and then after that I was "hooked". I've purchased from other breeders as well to help expand my flock genetics as best I could. I started selectively breeding from my stock to create my own line that is as close to the European standard as possible. Out of all the breeds I've owned they're the: friendliest/calmest (I have yet to have a bad drake), best foragers (will forage from first light until last) and best layers (lay all through winter even below zero).

Do you sell hatching eggs?

I’ve always wanted to raise hook bills, but I never got around to actually doing it. Sounds like an awesome bird and also just pretty to look at.

I am not currently selling hatching eggs or ducks, but that is the plan that should hopefully be happening in the next 1-2 years. I want to be NPIP certified and breed a little more bill curve into my line before I open up to the public. I just want to make sure that any eggs or ducks I do sell are 100% healthy and are a proper example of the breed:)

Would you happen to know of anyone that is a current Dutch hook bill breeder? That would sell eggs or ducks?
