February 2022 Hatch-A-Long

Pics
Incubator is stable and we’ll be loading these little gems in here in just a few minutes. 4x 55 Flowery, 3x Swedish Flower, 3x Isbar, and 2x Hedamora. Shipped Express into -5F, thankfully Greenfire packs really well. Years of chicken raising, but this is our first incubated hatch. Here we go!

That’s the one I just hatched!!! But I got 3 Hedemora and 2 Swedish black eggs, no Swedish flower. I had 10/12 hatch but the box didn’t travel far… only fl to ga

Aww, I hope the little one pulls through for you! You already gave vitamins so hopefully with a little time to perk up.
Me too. He's still alive and chirps periodically but isn't moving a ton. Lots of sleeping. He can hold his head for a couple seconds and then it just drops again. Hoping for an improvement by morning.

Have 9 more eggs in lock down, DAY 18 and 17. Won’t add water though until tomorrow or possibly a bit later (I dry incubate).
Here on DAY 10 of the Feb 16th eggs (last hatch, I promise…) there are 16/18 left. Had one blood ring and one early quitter. The egg with the air cell on it’s side is doing well, the air cell has moved a bit upwards, so there is hope this one will hatch. It is incubating upright.😊

Lol im beginning to think I may just make my own thread to follow these babies grow up rather than taking over this one talking about my breeding plans haha so that's definitely going in there. Luckily it won't be hard to find a home for any silkies ones. Sounds like they are VERY desirable lol I just don't have any need.

On another stage note, there is one Ayam Cemeni x EE egg in there that I basically wrote off from the beginning. It was developing but after a while it got very hard to candle but I left it in anyways. It was from an order of 6 eggs that arrived with severely detached air cells and after resting them for 24 hours only two looked good enough to put in the Bator and only one made it to lockdown. It was due yesterday with the rest (I have a staggered hatch so there are some other Fayoumi eggs in there too) and I have a ring camera set up to creep on the incubator. I just checked it and its been wobbling!!! (im at work) Im flabbergasted. I know it was a possibility but I still just can't believe it!
That is so good to know as I may very well find myself in similar situation! I will give them the benefit of the doubt!

I have one of my silkies eggs that looks just like that and I was gonna throw it out once HI eggs arrive...I may need to rethink that!
