Does a badegg always develop a blog ring? This egg doesn't seem as developed as the others, but there is no blood ring. I don't know if I should pull it. I am at day 16. There is no oozing or bad smells. View attachment 1675485

I'm late to the hatchalong, but I'll be going back to the beginning to see what I've missed.

I have eggs under broodies, but tomorrow is day 18 for one of them and I'll be candling and taking some out to place in a hatcher. I'm a little anxious about doing this but she's sitting on eggs from three different matings and I don't want the chicks getting mixed up. As soon as they dry off and I mark them, I'll be giving them back to her.

Yesterday and today were for calibrating. Wish me luck!

My only shipped egg I had left hatched around 2 am on the 15th. got a quick photo yesterday, but will try get a better one today. Welsh Harlequin (female we're guessing)

i just won auction for 60 ssc eggs!! should arrive next week for my st patrick’s day hatch!!

You were right. We took it out tonight and cracked it open. So that makes two that were not. It is surprising to me since most of our eggs are. Our rooster keeps busy.

No, not all bad eggs develop blood ring. Blood ring typically is bacterial related.

As it's day 16, if you can't see veins, movement or other signs of life it likely is no good.
