Feeder placement

I have six hens and was wondering about how many feeders do you use. One in the coop and one when they are in the tractor?Should they have access to feed even when they are out in the tractor? I have water always available.

I would give them food where ever they go just so they have the option.

I keep my feeders inside the coop. I used to keep them out in the run, but the hens always managed to spill some feed on the ground, which would get damp or wet, and spoil, making a stinking mess that I literally had to scrape up. The smell was just awful, plus, if your chickens eat that rotten feed, they can become very ill.

Now, if I was going to put my hens in a chicken tractor for an entire day, I would definitely provide some feed too, but not if they were in the chicken tractor for just a few hours. I would provide water in the tractor though.

Just my humble opinion.
