Does fermenting chicken feed produce alcohol, or is this a different type of fermentation. I'm thinking about fermenting my chicken feed as heard it has loads of health benefits so I want to know whether it produces any form of alcohol or not.

No it does not make alcohol. If you decide to try it, mix it a couple times a day and feed it to them by the third day. I back slop every day after I feed them and keep the batch going. My chickens like it on the dryer side, so it's like thick oatmeal, when I feed it out. You can make and eat fermented foods for yourself.

No it is a different type. Alcohol fermentation uses yeast, this kind uses bacterium. Lactobacillus, to be exact. Basically the same type used to make things like sour cream, cheese and yogurt. And pickles too, I believe, back before they got lazy and just soaked everything in brine and vinegar.
