Yes since one has pipped can you see this duckling open its mouth peeping ? When you candle the others you may see a bill inside the air cell.

Sadly no peeping and a closed mouth. I think it didn’t make it.

So sorry . Have you looked at the rest for signs of life?

I haven’t candled them yet ... no progress at all on the first one, I’ll have to take it out of the nest.

The others have visible rings (you can see if you look closely in the photos) and no pips. Not sure what happened.

Yeah. It’s so strange! Mama Duck has been so good about sitting on them all month. I don’t know what went wrong. She’s going to be sad when I take them away.
