Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Good afternoon/evening everyone :frow I would like to know what you guys think I should put in the yard for the chickens:/ I plan on putting 2 swings and 2 big grass boxes, but I would like to put more in there for them and I do not know what else they would like :idunno I am also planning on putting a short tree in there as well since they would really appreciate that as well.

That sounds great for now. Too many changes might actually stress them out unless you haven't gotten the chickens yet then maybe adding string for treats I've heard they love that. Krystal also showed us a coop plan with plants around it for them to eat although I do wonder once they start pecking at it do they know to stop or will the plants be gone in a week or less.

Luna has gotten huge since she got better.

Makes me wonder how long shes had that crop problem.
Her comb and wattles have also gotten larger and she’s starting to squat for the roosters, I reckon she’ll be laying very soon.

Awww :love:love:love She looks like a pretty fluffy squishy pillow!! I'm in love with the Splash coloring but Luna is just awesome! :hugs

I wonder if anyone has read through all 645 pages of this thread. :caf

I came in a few hundred pages deep, but I read the entire thing before chiming in. Also, welcome!

I don't put personal information on the Internet.

That's completely fine! No one here knows much about my personal life or even my name. I just enjoy talking to people about what's happing with my flock. You could share pictures and stories of your flock if you wish. I would say Krystal (AKA @KLIL )should be around soon to greet you, but she hasn't been on in a while, which is worrying the people on this thread.

Congrats to everyone with new chicks!

A few days ago I went to mud springs (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/florida/mud-springs-trail) to honor a family friends mom who passed away a year ago. I brought my bearded dragon Mushu with us. He enjoyed the almost two-mile walk and beautiful spring at the end.

He had his very own float!

My flock is doing well, just the normal overabundance of broodies.

Roosts, tree stumps, mirrors, sand pit, mulch of any sort to scavange through...you could do a rotation system so there is something different every month or so. If you put in a tree you will need to protect the roots until it's established: an old tire or pavers might do the trick.

Yes!

Chickens love going to work on stuff like leaves and etc. It makes them very happy
