For those of you that name your chickens...

I started out swearing I would not name or become attached to my farm animals. I bought the hens for my breakfast (and the rooster for hen protection ). I was so naive then....

Mr. Big -- some kind of rooster , as seen in my avatar
Shadow -- Queen of the Coop, Australorp with a bottomless appetite
IQ -- red sex link, my smartest chicken and construction helper
Robin -- RIR and distant relative of Harry Houdini
Buffy -- infamously broody BO
De and Vo -- black sex links, earliest and most reliable layers

Our BOs are Buffy, Blondie, Gilda and Goldie. Gilda is our broody hen.
Butch and Steve are our roos, a RIR and a RIR/BO cross.
Henrietta is our dominate RIR.
Jackie (as in one-eyed Jack, because her eye is damaged) RIR hen
Louis the lap sitting RIR
Orville and Wilbur, our first Bantams to take flight.
mLarry, our bantam roo we were told was a hen. Was going to be Merry...
Betty, our Barred Rock hen, because she's grump and territorial like our neighbor (human) Betty
Janet, the cockerel (born on my mother's birthday and our first slaughtered chicken. No hidden meaning, I swear!!!)
Kirk, the pullet (born on my DH's birthday)
Jessica, the Crested Polish roo (Former owners didn't like him, so humiliated him with female name??)
Daisy, our single surviving Bantam hen. Sister Daisy fell prey to predator
We had Elvis, a crested Bantam and Marilyn, an all white crested bantam, that were lost

She is a bantam show cochin. She is 5 years old and rules the roost... She could part the red sea.
