We had originally looked for 10 acres This is kind of “ neighborhood” area no other chickens that I’ve seen on this road of 5 properties.2.5 acres is small??
I have 1.25 acres and will have 24 LF chickens and 3 bantams.
Try raising them this way:

Thanks. I’m not wanting to dress them up or anything but I’ve waited SO long for them that I do want them to like me.Speckled Sussex hens are very curious and interactive, love them! Belgian d'Uccles and Easter Eggers, at least some individuals.
Chickens aren't really meant to be 'cuddly' pets; they are prey animals, and know it, and will be happy to hang around underfoot, but not necessarily enjoy handling. Cats and dogs cuddle!
Consider getting several breeds to start, and see who appeals to you.
Bantams are great, and so are the 'big birds', so enjoy.

Wow ... she really poses! Lovely!Cochins totally. They are SO fluffy and extremely friendly and docile; if you’re looking for a super friendly, cuddly, sweet chicken that’s also a really good egg layer, orpingtons are great I love mine
Here are my hens (yes my Orpington is very photogenic)

I couldn’t find these in the breeds listed here?Bantams
I 100% recommend D'Uccles. They are naturally friendly with little handing ever needed.
As in breed threads?I couldn’t find these in the breeds listed here?
It's french, so pronounced "dewkl" after the city Uccle [ykl] "ewkl" in Belgium. I have some and the boys are skittish around me and cuddly with each other, but the girls I had were absolutely the sweetest birds (before an owl got them and broke my heart). The roosters don't have spurs, so that's a plus as well. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a friendly breed that doesn't mind chickens on the roof because they are great flyers!Thank you ... how is the pronounced please?
