This guy showed up thursday living in the wild brush areas..i found him in one of the crates last night.he is gentle, malnourished and been in some fights. I happen to know at a barn about 1/4 mile down the road they have "friendly" rooster fights ( no metal spurs, spurs dubbed ) this boy has obviously been handled a lot, spurs are clearly filed down..not sure if maybe he has been loose a while as there are errant crows heard from fields not here and not at the places i know have chickens..my flocks are finally really going farther and farther into my pastures,i am thinking he followed themup..anyway, i doctored him up,dewormed him and he has been very protective of my month old chicks, respectful of my older roosters, challenge the youngsters but after a few dust ups they have settled ..

Yes, he looks like a game bird or game mix. I would watch him closely around other roosters.
I will as i have several plus some cockerels..my main rooster isnt aggressive but takes no shit from the youngsters.right now Jethro is ignoring him. He went eye to eye,the new comer appropriately looked away and moved on, but once he gwts well fed that may change
