Yeah. I had to hatch my eggs in an incubator they wouldn't even sit on them. But when they saw their babies they nipped at them at first then they pretty much protected them after

One time I was watching this hen caring for her babies and one of them was pecking her eye so the hen just closed her eye and she was like "Stop it. No. Quit. I don't like this. Stop it." XD
