so i want to get a couple new ones this spring.I want a decent-good egglayer that isnt super flighty or aggressive. Also i was wondering how cochins do on the egglaying.

I dont think Cochins are that good layers but not had the breed myself. You cant go wrong with Goldlines or Ex batts. Also Orpingtons are nice too but there is a high chance they will go broody.

My cochin lays fine when she is not broody but she is broody A LOT. If you are wanting to hatch eggs naturally they are a great choice but if you are just wanting a good layer to have eggs to eat I don't think they are the best.

I have been really happy with RIRs and White Leghorns. My Leghorns are fantastic layers (but flightly.) You might also want to look into Wyandottes or Australorps.
