I would refrain from giving any other foods except egg white. Picture a tidal wave of slimy egg white meeting the impacted string, lifting it out of the spot where it's lodged and carrying it on out. Other foods will dilute the egg white tidal wave we are hoping to set loose on that string.

Another analogy would be a clogged toilet. Simple flushing doesn't do anything since it lacks force. When I have a clogged toilet, I fill a three gallon bucket with water from the bathtub and dump it into the toilet bowl all at once, creating a tidal wave of force. It works every time.

This is what you will try to create with plain egg white. Flood his crop with egg white, a goose egg white would be great, or several chicken egg whites. This may be a bit tricky. I would either let him eat the egg white if he will or syringe the egg white directly into his crop, carefully noting when the crop is full and cannot handle any more. Trying to stuff more into the crop than it will hold risks overflow into the airway.

As for the grit, do not force that into him. Grit is something the bird will judge how much to consume by the way he feels. Just make it easily available.

I put some egg whites from our chicken eggs into a bowl and hes taken a few "sips" of it. Not sure he knows how he feels about that. He is going to be in the dog kennel in the coop for today while I'm at work. He has a bowl of his electrolyte ACV water as well. Replaced the puppy pads so I can see what his poo looks like today. Should I give him another stimulant free stool softener before I go to work? You've been a huge help

The string won't soften with a stool softener. It would just help break up a mass of food. What you need is the egg whites to float the string out. Giving him just a sip at a time of the whites isn't going to do the job. Recall my analogy of flushing a toilet. You don't want to merely soften the clog. You want to flush it.

What is the best way to do that?

Do you have an oral syringe? Do you have any aquarium or oxygen tubing? Tubing into the crop would be easiest. But here's how you would do it with just a syringe.

Thank you for all your advice. I also got molases today, it says unsulphered. How do I go about doing that? I've seen it on here quite a few times and in different ways. Is that an effective treatment worth trying?

Yes, it's worth trying. Mix one teaspoon of molasses in one-fourth cup warm water and have the goose drink it all. It will stimulate a mild diarrhea and help empty the intestines.

I apologize if I offend anyone's faith, not my intentions, just sharing our story, and also apologize for a picture of poop, but we've been praying over our goose every night asking God to help us deal with this blockage while we have tried every thing in the book. Tonight we said Amen and 2 seconds later, no exaggeration, we have our first POOP in DAYS!!!! I looked up and said "Wow, that was fast shipping" :celebrate I was so excited I ran to the house, grabbed toilet paper, ran back to the coop and picked it up and brought it inside to investigate. This is our first night since hes been sick that his poop has had ANY signs of any material in it at all. Looks like we have some grass/plant material. But this HAS to be a step in the right direction, right? Every day we have had liquid, and liquid only. Except tonight. About 20 minutes ago

Yep! Fast action there! Hope the action keeps rolling!
After dissecting, it turns out it is NOT grass. It is quite large and tough pieces of some kind of thorny plant. What in the world?? Could THIS have been the blockage and not the tarp string I had originally seen him eat? I could not imagine trying to pass this.
