I fully admit I was a terror when little. Grandpa used to think I was going to end up with hands like beaver tails from them getting smacked so often. Evidently I was hearing impaired when it came to the word NO. [IMG] I honestly only remember getting spanked 1 time when I didn't deserve it but since there were many time I should have and didn't , think I came out ahead. We were also told if we got in trouble in school we would get it TWICE as bad when we got home.

There were quite a few children (2or 3 to about 10 yrs old) At mass sat night that could have done with a good SMACK. Either that or a second baptism as the first didn't take. Church is NOT your private jungle gym. [IMG][IMG] I blame the parent's and their lack of respect for others by not either taking the kids to the crying room or outside. A couple of my ex-girlfriends had children and I would swat them when needed. One of them(little girl about 5) we only had to leave the church 1 time and after that all I would have to do was lean over the ask it she wanted to go outside and "have a talk"

A couple month's a go at mass there was a small boy and quite the demon... so Dad picks him up and they start heading outside. All of the sudden the little boys starts yelling "no daddy I'll be good " He yelled that all the way out the church. I have sat behind them a couple times since then and when ever he gets to rambunctious dad just leans over say's something and he straightens right up.

Guess I always felt that if current girlfriend and I were possible going to be a family and she had children then the children were both of ours as well. That meant sharing the responsability of raising the children as well. If that meant spankings so be it. They (the women) agreed.

Besides unless the children out number the parents and the windows in the car it's not a family. LOL You haven't lived until you go on a family vacation with 4 kids and a dog in a station wagon. With Everything you needed for 2 weeks. Nothing like your father slowing down the car and starting to pull over to the side of the road to make everyone straighten up. Alas sometimes we had pushed to many button's and it didn't help.

My brother and his wife had a few "issues" over the kids. She asked him a couple times why the kids listened better to him. His response was because he didn't just yell at them with no consquences. With him it was a raised voice and then punishment of some type. NO chances to infinity because she couldn't/wouldn't spank or carry out any threats she had made.

Lovely overcast weather today! The girls are loving it. I took some pics.

Sussex and guinea tractor. I let one out today, as an experiment. It's pretty sad right now.

I don't think treating them for worms or coccidia will hurt, but I am wondering if maybe they have been kept away from the food by the others. Perhaps they can't see well enough either. Not sure how you've been keeping them. In with the bantams? Serama can actually be pretty bossy. If you haven't already, I would isolate them, feed them up, and see how they do. Seems like a lot of people keep Polish separate from other large fowl or keep those crests trimmed. High maintenance, but cute!

x2, doesn't really read like coccidia. Either way, isolation will better allow direct feeding and monitoring as well as making treatment you you do choose easy to apply just to them

well, I have treated them anyway. hahaa they are with the bantams. only its mostly just them now. I gave the a mohawk when i got them. not being picked on. from the little bit i did read . cocci , fluffed up, not active , weight lose, or worms so i am hitting them both. mites, dont have but my other coop does. I will make sure they get high protein treats til i see them eating the crumbles. could be they only want pellets ?

Maybe they just don't know the crumbles are food? Chickens are so crazy dumb sometimes, so it's hard to say.

I've found with the polish that keeping the food and water in the same place is best all round and to actually show them where it is. They sure can be on the stupid side and little changes can make a big difference. What age are the polish now?
