your not allowed to have guns in England ? so do criminals have them? My first husband got me I think the same gun Enola, it was a rifle ? 22 something. I was good too , til i threatened to shot him and he pawned it.

While I would never want to own a gun, I would definitely like to try one on a shooting range, I have some BB guns and tender to win ar laserquest so I think I am a decent shot though I doubt compares to the real thing. :)

Gun controls are very strict over here, only farmers are permitted to get licenses most of the time. some criminals have guns, but it tends not to be small time crooks or nutters - we have never had a mass shooting or hostage situation as far as I can remember.
 
hmm, thats an age old question here. If we criminalize guns will only criminals have guns ? there for not being able to protect ourselves.
 
It's crazy just the difference in culture even Canada to the U.S. Regarding guns. We never had guns in the house (which blew my hubs' mind cause dad was military but come on. Air Force officer...I don't doubt he could fire a gun but it was never a big deal...blew people's minds that I was pretty meah with guns, hubs has a bunch, all his friends have a bunch, one of the wives laments that she can't carry a gun in the car or when she goes for a run...I wonder why...

Shooting at the squirrel was the first time I've shot at anything other than a target. And even target shooting does nothing for me. I dunno. Guess I'm just too much a hippie Canuck. I'm actually getting on hubs a bit more on getting a safe as we have friends having kids like nobody's business right now, and one of them is about two and a half...at least he doesn't leave anything loaded but it's always in the back of my mind.

Yes, and its a tricky one to answer so I googled some stats, not sure how accurate but they provide a guide in the least :

Per capita (100,000) , numbers in brackets below are years the stats are taken from
Homicides
USA : 10.64 (2013)
UK : 0.25(2010)

Unintentionally
USA: 0.16 (2013)
UK: 0.01 (2010)

I tried to shoot a guinea with my sons . I winged the wrong one. poor guy would take spells bleeding for the next 2 yrs. first think my son did was shoot my GS in the butt. they thought it was funny
