Ming , do you have any aloe ? helps a ton. hope you feel better. I spent the day at the drs. with a sheet pulled over my head. 6 new meds later and a threat of U of C if they dont help. guess i am a little more sick then i thought. Sugar and BP is out of control and have been ordered bed rest. I have never been told to go to bed. people are normally telling me to get up.

so I finally for the little jerk squirrel who's been stealing my chickens food.

He was in the coop and run...got himself caught between chicken wire and coop wall. Ugh. Finished him off, did some quick safety wire patching on the wire (had to cut through to get the cursed thing out!) and will be patching when hubby comes home with more tools (all I had was a tiny pair of wire cutters. Which yeah. Could make due but...

some say its good. In the 10 yrs. i have been here i have never seen a squirrel in my yard.

you eat them Enola ? Not sure if i have or not. come home from school and no telling what was floating in that pot.

I eat squirrel in the fall, when they are young. When I catch them in the hen house, they go in the crock pot and the chickens eat them. All I find left of them is some strange looking bones and their little skulls when I take manure out of the hen house.

I have a niece in Fl. I dont know her well but she does (to me) strange art work using things like little sculls. So they are tender just in fall ?

I grew up hunting squirrel with my daddy. The rifle I've been using to finish off the possums is the same one I grew up hunting squirrels with, and the same one my daddy used when he was a kid.

Anyway, we put squirrel in a gumbo. It makes excellent gumbo. Skin and soak the meat a day or two in salt water, changing the water a few times here and there. It helps the gamey taste.

I haven't hunted in several years, but I noticed just a few days ago that our squirrels are as big as rabbits, and plentiful. I'm gearing up for that gumbo already.
