Morning all, I have a test at the hospital today and I guess i am going to the goodwill to try and find a crock pot. I am having a really hard time dealing with this. It just makes me so mad at the surgeon all over again. There is no easy way out. No help, nothing. I wish I could at least of gotten pictures. I know i keep talking about this and going in circles . Its because I dont want to lose them. I probably wont have the money for a crock pot til pay day anyhow. LOL I do think (almost positive) this round of "illness" is simply the heat. It is so very hot in the coop of bantams and some dont come out to the run. Not sure why. The one frizzle sister that acted ill was for one day only. This just makes it harder . If there is nothing wrong with them then I am culling healthy expensive birds just because I cant take care of them. I probably have at least 30 seramas now Some pet quality some looking pretty good. Not counting the ones that have hatched here I have about $400. wrapped up in the birds alone. I just know there has to be a solution to this mess without putting them down. I just need more time to think it out.

DH is having chest pain on and off. He is refusing hospital. I am afraid he is starting to give up. I am trying to not let my depression show with him. I want him to be happy, to see happy around him. To know life is still worth living. So, I ask him nothing about the chickens. He seems to enjoy the babies in the house. No matter how many i had when the babies were hatching he would get big smiles on his face when i brought a new one in. It makes him happy to see me happy. It makes him happy to "fix"something for me. building a new brooder box. feeling needed. So I "need " him every day. spider in the bathtub this am. size of a dinner plate ! LOL well, looked that big to me anyway. Hubby took care of that. Now all i have is spider guts in there . Its a garden tub I dont use anyway so no harm, no fowl .hehe [IMG]

Hi granny girl, sure sounds like you have a dilemma there with all your chickens. Have you tried to put an ad on Craiglist for all the Seramas? Explaining that due to your health issues that you cannot continue to care for them anymore. That they may have been exposed to CRD, but that they are not sick. You probably will never get any real money out of them, but if you didn't have to cull them that would be huge. This heat is horrible right now, I've had to be very hands on with my chickens and I don't even have any fussy breeds. Hope your day gets brighter hun, sending :hugs for you & Tom.

Granny, do you have 4-H in your county? Or FFA. Maybe there is a student who would like to take the Seramas on as a project. They could have the birds tested to be sure they're clear.

I wasnt thinking about giving them to anyone just in case they are sick. If they were even carriers and they went to the 4h. I wanted that for my grandchildren. I was just told by their dad its a no. they cant take them over there. [IMG] If you are ready to listen I have a good one. MY DAY !!!! It was terrible. of course. why wouldnt it be ? Took the pennies to the bank. had $20. bucks ! then I told them the "other"bank dont make us maintain $100. in the checking and they give free checks. She said no free checks but i will get rid of the charges. so from now on if i have $100 I can use it. [IMG]
went and got some smokes and headed to the other town. just missing an ambulance. Lucky day. I didnt have to pull over. So, going down the road I get stuck behind some kind of farm thingy that i felt quite sure i could of drove under. 10 min. of 40 mph later and i get a chance to pass. Then I see the ambulance at an old folks home. I am leaning forward star gazing and as i lean back my back is on fire with pain !! Something has stung me and it hurts , bad. I whipped off the road just past the ambulance and jumped out of the van screaming. YUP, off came the shirt with no bra on. jumping up and down yelling at poor Tom to get out. I dont know how many cars were behind me and at the time i didnt care. I was ready to go flying to the ambulance and knock that old lady they had out of my way. [IMG]I (Tom) came to my senses and slipped my shirt back on then we went for a hunt. It was still in my seat. ugly black thing with white stripes on it. Put it in a pop bottle ,after tom whacked it with his hat, and headed on our way. Then I had to pass the farm thingy again ! Instead of going to hospital I went to er to see if the stinger was in my back and if they might know what it was. They wouldnt see me unless i signed in. Tom was waiting in the van. we have no air. so i told them no and as i turned to leave Tom comes RUNNING into the er screaming I GOTTA PEE !! [IMG]He said it about 3-4 times . Of course someone is in the mens. so i took him to the girls. I stayed with him and all i seen was 2 drops of blood. He says its always like that. finally made it to my appt. she says how high is your BP run? it was 189/95. [IMG] went and got the chicken food and some gas ($2.29) and home . called dr. she says go to er. hahaa benadryl and steroids for me, appt. for Tom, dinner cooked and ate, chickens fed and watered chicks butt soaked and clean. Looked it up. It is called a bald faced hornet. They are able to shoot venom in a humans eyes blinding them. Should i consider myself lucky ? I am just now done with my day.

[IMG]I am glad i am not alone . hahaa good thing it didnt go down my pants. that would of been a heart attack for all those old geezers in their rocking chairs. I was right in front of them.. The ER didnt know what it was either. I am glad I had the bug so i could look it up. All i did was google black with white stripes and it popped right up.
