Crocheting my little heart out today to finish a blanket for a baby born last week.

I've never had 12 chicks at once before and they stink! Sour smelling. At least one has thick, foamy poop. I have probiotics in the water; maybe the feed isn't good? I had a couple with droppings stuck on their bottoms, but only one I'll have to soak. It doesn't look like the pasty butt I've seen, but it doesn't seem like it could be anything else.

I agree with enola, campingshaws.
Today my 4-H club had a fundraiser for second-harvest food bank. At Tractor Supply! You heard me correct, 5 hours in the store with so many little peepers staring at you with thair cute little faces. I had to resist the temtation, I went outside. I lasted through 2 hours before having to go back inside. There they were, still so cute I had to make a disision. My final disision was if I could get the house clean I will get three, only three (My TSC Knows I rescue and will give me less if I pay for more). I got out of there with 2 bags of rabbit food and 4 bags of horse feed.
Challange Accepted!

I've wanted to, I'm just waiting on a feed container and a place to put it. Right now we store the feed in the house, so FF isn't a good option. But my white layers have their face in the feeder every waking moment, so I was hoping that would cut down their consumption, too. Stretch the feed a bit.

chicks stink. too many in one place makes for cage changes every day. they dont have cocci do they? its rare to see pasty but on your own chicks. them that come from the store are more prone to it. sometimes a bad bag of food will do it too.

I've been changing the brooder once a day but may go to twice. In the last chicks I had, one had pasty butt. Same feed. It's from the feed store; DH came home with it loose in a Walmart sack. I have no idea on brand or composition. Maybe the brooder is too hot? I have a shade up so they can get out of the direct heat, but they never use it.

Give up the 12 bucks twisted. become a golden feather. It gets rid of the ads. I am assuming that will fix your troubles.

all I can find is t$20 and that's almost 100 lbs of feed. Besides will they let an evil, stinking, stupid smoking landlord even join??
