He's in no more pain, Ollie my favorite chicken/rooster is no longer with me

Thank to all of you for trying to help, it's all my fault, I should have asked for advice last week when I wormed them and he started acting funny.

Oh I am so sorry about your roo! It is just so hard to lose an animal. They wedge themselves right into our hearts.

He beat me to it, lol.  That is a favorite movie of DD and I - this past year at fair she even pulled the whole, "Farm boy - polish my horse's saddle" bit on her bf (he knows his line is always, "As you wish")

Ha! I love this. I can just picture it in my mind. :)

Random question for everyone/anyone... so I have this hummingbird nest on my patio. She decided that my string of lights would be a good place to make a nest, which besides the wind blowing it back and forth and making me nervous, has actually worked out pretty well. Anyway, she laid 2 eggs. Only one hatched, and the chick is probably going to leave tomorrow. So here is my random question... could that other egg be explosive?? I've read so many times about people with their chicken eggs and to make sure to take out the bad ones so that they don't turn into bombs, would a hummingbird egg be the same? Could it have exploded and killed the chick? I'm really just curious, since the baby is very likely going to be ready to leave tomorrow, it obviously hasn't affected it. :)

This was the chick today, making me nervous since s/he can't quite get enough oomph to fly, and was wobbling around on the wire for an hour or so. Then he got back in the nest and took a nap. :) Also, my wall doesn't normally look like that, LOL, but mama liked to projectile poop. Sigh. Something I didn't know was that a few days after the hatch, the mama no longer sits on the nest. She comes back to feed the baby throughout the day, but doesn't warm it at night or anything. Interesting, I thought, since it was pretty bald and ugly when the mama stopped sitting, lol. Good thing it hasn't been super cold!

Worth a shot. I don't use dryer sheets anymore, but was given a box that I haven't found a use for.

Chicks are so messy! They'd kicked out their feeders yesterday, so I took the feeders out so the chicks would eat the food from the floor. Well at 2 am they woke me up, apparently starving to death. Put the feeders back in. It was cool in the house this morning, but I never heard them. Went in and they were all in a big pile. Yesterday was warm so I had moved them closer to the window, farther from the heat. Cleaned out the tub again. Here's a pic of just the babies, not the week-olds.
