Broody update: she was off the nest and dashing around the yard this morning. By the time I had the feed out, she was back on a nest, but the wrong one. She kept that nest blocked until everyone laid in her original, then she switched back. Sneaky thing. She's desperate for eggs.

I did some construction on the coop so she has her own nest, food, and waterer but she's still in the coop. I hope it works. She's setting on some of today's eggs, for now. When she's had time to get settled I'll switch them out. She kept her bottom in the box through most of my construction, so I'd say she's pretty determined.

Also, my rooster spurred me today. Strike One. :(

The new setup. I just exchanged her eggs for five from the bator. :fl everyone!

Looks good, camping. The problem I had with Serama broody frenzy last spring, was other hens laying new eggs in the broody nest. Mark the ones she's going to hatch so you can remove the new eggs. It's good to draw a ring around the middle so you don't have to handle the eggs to check.

Just realized what you used to build it! Baby gates, the most useful thing I never thought I needed.
