maybe not the best timing in the world but wanted to let you all know I finally did something today.I cleaned a room in the house including washing statues and the floor. LOL Then asked DH if he would come sit with me outside while i cleaned. I am now the proud owner of 2 not one but 2 new hunks of meat in the sink. I only have to wrap and freeze them now.
That is the last time that overgrown EE rooster tries to mate my 8oz. serama !
My husband now has a whole new respect for me as well.He looked a bit green when he said no way could i do that.
I need a better knife and sharper hatchet.
too funny, had myself in that same situation last fall when 2 Light Sussex roosters tried to mate the same delicate hen. They hurt her so bad I had to put her down. Needless to say they both ended up hanging from their feet on my old apple tree. My first attempt at butchering a rooster didn't go so good. Knife was too dull to cut the head off. Called to daughter to run get me a sharper knife stat. Things went fine after that. I was so mad I waved the knife around yelling at the rest of my roos, "anymore of you @ssholes want to hurt my girls?" The rest declined
