Meat chickens are not my cup of T due to the weirdness of them. That's how they are bred though to grow so fast.

I've not had trouble with smaller polish hatching so I think you should be ok with them. The chicks maybe a little smaller though. I've not really done many pullet eggs because I ate them as soon as they started laying :D

I have been craving some fresh fried chicken and that was the only way I thought to get some. I feel for them. I didnt think it through . It wants to play with the others and cant already. . breathing heavy too. and now its got something wrong with it. I think I rather use extra roos even if they are on the lean side. At least they had a normal life.

If these black tails hatch :/ I was thinking off keeping a boy or two out of them to see what they would be like as eating birds. I'm not sure though if it would take too long to grow them on to actually have some thing to eat!
 
york, I dont do anything with my extra roos til they start acting up and each breed is different but that is around 6-9 months.
