It could still be a cuckoo marans. The CM, barred rocks, and dominiques all look pretty similar. I have a lot of trouble telling them apart. Barred rocks can be sexed at hatch, though, based on the white spot on their head.

I only wanted 3-4 and a single nice small coop for them. I now have 5 coops and won't admit the number of birds.

I must be weird.... I started with a 130 square foot coop and 40 chickens.... Now I have 23.

Not totally. It depends a lot on your state. The testing he did today was free. Some states aren't.

I have a tendency to lock up when folks are telling me stuff that contradicts what I thought, especially stuff I don't know as much about. Low confidence, which isn't always a bad thing. But sometimes I don't stand up for myself.

Overall I'm pleased with how today went. I handled the guineas with no extra bloodshed, and I can send y'all eggs and chicks now.

I'm giving up on them today. I got all worked up and down and around and back over if they are this or that male or female.
I'll start over again tomorrow and I'm sure I will fuss over the same thing for the next few weeks.

Ditto!!! Raising chicks seems SOOOO easy when ya first try hatching.... Which we know you will....
(BTW, I have done all of these. The guineas are chillin' beside my bed right now.... In case you needed further proof of my insanity)
