Well, someone already guessed correctly earlier--she is a Friesan/Paint cross. I've seen both parents in person, no questions about her parentage.

She is Bay. Her momma was bay/white and her daddy was solid (true) black. No bucksin! She is unlikely to get much bigger than 15 hands, but that has nothing to do with color. The previous posters were right, Bucksin has nothing to do with size. Your 2 horses were small because their parents were.
I'll give you a roo anyway, though!! You sure you don't want one??
J/K!

That would've been a good guess though!! She does look like a Cleveland Bay. I think Cleveland Bays are usually bigger, though?? Not sure, I've only ever seen a few "in person" and I don't really remember.
I'll try to get a pic of her today. She was 2 years younger in that first pic. She was body clipped this spring, but most of her feathers have grown back on her legs now...and I haven't had the time or energy to pull her mane, either.
The mayor would kill me if I had a rou! And their is a breed of Buckskin it is a Candain breed the police used to ride them. Yes it is a color and a breed. Small but fast.
Buckskin isnt a breed, its a color. Like Bay, Sorrell, Paint, Palamino, etc. Your mare is very nice! I love Friesens, one of my favorite breeds. Would love to have one, or a Gypsy, or a Clydesdale. Id just love to have a horse period. I would REALLy love to have a Buckskin Quarter Horse.
Well here are a couple of pics of her today, in all of her pasture potato glory....
She's standing weird in the second pic, but I couldn't get a good pic of her (it was about to rain and she wouldn't quit coming over to the fence to see what I was up to). She doesn't actually stand back on her heels like that--in the next second after I snapped that photo, she bent around and reached up with a back leg to scratch behind her ear.

Paint is a breed but Pinto is a color. Sorry for my vent. Check out APHA.com. It will tell you about the breed. I have 5 registered Paints.
Bay, Sorrel, Palomino and Buckskin are colors though My aunt has a buckskin Quarter horse gelding and my other aunt used to have a Buckskin Paint gelding. I almost bought a buckskin Half Arabian once.
P.S. I've always wanted to breed one of my Paint mares to a Fresian. I may or may not get color as she is not homozygous Tobiano. But it still would be an awesome foal. With the economy and horse prices though I'm not breeding at all esp. since I have decided to sale my 2 year old black gelding. I don't need another horse.
