Hello, all:
I have had a guinea for almost a year. He arrived as a little keet, very weak; however, he managed to grow up just fine. He anyways had a little sneeze now and then, but his nostrils and eyes remained clear, and he flew around and lived just fine.
After some rough weather, I noticed he was still sneezing, and today I noticed a slightly watery eye. I immediately culled him just got precautions, but I was wondering if he is still safe to eat? That was their original purpose, and his meat/body was fine. All the other birds act normal, and never appeared to catch anything — not even the other guineas; that said, what opinions do you guys have?
Should the entire bird be put to waste, it is the breast meat still viable? I am currently inspecting the lungs, liver, and heart for any clues as to what may have happened.
