These are two of the male chicks that showed it, at different ages, it was hard to get it to photograph really well, the second one especially makes it look like maybe side sprigs too, but having held the birds, it was definitely more than sprigs):

If you want to talk about it more, you can PM me if you'd like. It's not something that's very common, and especially not in single comb breeds. I had a really hard time tracking down just what exactly was happening. It typically shows up in rose combs.
