Hatch-Along January 19th!!

On lockdown and this is Day 20 with the second batch of eggs in my new Nurture Right 360 incubator. 24 hours until Day 21... Humidity is at 67% and patiently (haha) waiting to see how many of the 13 eggs hatch.

0600. First little pip! Almost too tiny to see but it’s a sign of the day to come.

Oh good, Sir Eggsalot has made a hole so he can shout. Little progress elsewhere; they’re just saving up energy to make an entrance.

8:30am. Another teeny peck.

0900. Egg 2 and 3 just pipped. I think they’re waking up to take on the day. No. 3 is in the back so it’s kind of difficult to see.

1530 7 pips and going strong…starting to see some real progress!

1600 8 pips now. 7 hours into pip, Lady/Sir Eggsalot is getting really mad at that pesky shell.

The night brought 7 little chicks and two more pips! The little pipsqueaks are a blur of movement and full of little tweety cheeps.

1000AM. 504 hours and 21 days since setting. 9/14 pipped, 8/13 hatched. One did not absorb all its guts before hatching and may not make it. Life’s hard- poor little thing. I’m leaving it alone and hoping for the best. Two eggs were set 24-48 hours after the others so are not due yet. The others are doing great considering they were incubated over a snow storm and three power outages.
