Hatch Along - Setting eggs June 7th.....anyone else?

My temp dipped during the night again. I woke at 2:45 am to check and the temp was 98 on the eggs (still air) so I covered the bator with a blanket. When I woke at 6, it had spiked to 103, so I took the blanket off again. Up at 9 (for good this time) and the temp was at 99 on the eggs. I have had it covered off an on for the last hour and have the egg level thermometer at 100 now, 99 on the wall.
Oh boy.

My temps were pretty steady until I put the eggs in and its as if it knew i'd be nervous and its going up and down. I am hoping it is just because my temp/hyd is on its side now and on one side of the bator while it rotates in the cradle. I am trying not to freak out too much but it goes from 98.9 into 100.3. Maybe i should swap the temp location or just put it under the basket >< I promised myself not to futz with it until tonight so everything has a chance to aclimate.

edit: Thank for you for the egg comments. I purchased them from Ruth here on BYC. I am so thrilled with them. All arrived in perfect condition too!

I'm liking the word "FUTZ" boxedcow, "Futzing"......Uh huh, I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot of that I've been sick all week and up many times at night, so every time I get up to wander around I have to look at it. I finally took the day off today to rest....so of course I'll have to futz more. My temps are 99.4 and the humidity is at 56%.
My Royal Palm Turkey hen is still sitting on her eggs and they are due any day...the 4th if you count from when my Partridge Rock hen started sitting on them..the 11th if you count from when the turkey hen started sitting. I find myself walking out to the coop so much, you would think I was awaiting another grandchild. She gives me "the look"..and I'm pretty sure that she is plotting my death.

lol I know what you mean. I dreamt about eggs last night. I tossed and turned so much I don't feel like I slept at all >< Thank goodness it is Friday and I can obsess more closely over the weekend lol.

Your Royal Palm Tom is beautiful! I would love to have a turkey tom someday...I live in the city though and not really ready for one yet.

Oh gee, this is like hearing about my future. I will be starting my eggs either tonight or tomorrow morning. It was supposed to be tomorrow morning, but...I'm SO EXCITED! We are going out on a backpacking trip during the final four days of the incubation period, so I'm trying to time the hatch for when we return. I know - CRAZY! How can we go on a trip and leave eggs about to hatch?! But we are. Because my whole family is not as crazy and excited about egg hatching as me, I suppose. :) That's okay. I still love 'em. And my mom will come check on my eggs while we're gone. Just not as obsessively, I expect.
