Hatching Coturnix Quail with Broody Chicken

Yeah, I got them a long time ago. Elvis is crowing and Chubbs SHOULD be laying, but hasn't. Mrs. Tweedy I bet would love to go to that coop by herself and not have to deal with being sat on when others lay their eggs. Then I won't have to bug her to remove eggs either.

Awesome!! That sounds like a good plan!!! I eventually want land too but I’m not sure if I should just buy land or look for somewhere with a house already on it or at least the set ups for like water and sewer and electric and stuff cause building is so expensive or can be so by the time you build you could sometimes almost find a house for the same or cheaper so I just don’t know lol I would honestly be fine with just a tiny house or a tent

Yes, they sit on her. The duck sits right on top of her. She will not move. She doesn't want them near her eggs. Our nesting boxes are quite large. They are those stainless steel ones from Harris Farms.

OMG that’s amazing and hilarious!!!! The Colonel and Peach aka Peaches (dad sometimes gets the name one and it kinda stuck lol) always lay in that nest lately!!! Always fresh eggs from them lol

Mrs. Tweedy is about the same age and has gone broody twice. She is a determined chicken. She is truly one of my favorites because she is just so friendly and cute. When she puffs up I laugh at her because it is not even scary to me.

That's really interesting. She sounds so cute.

I am going to add more quail eggs under her and put her in the dollhouse coop. It is a prefab coop that we got from amazing friends for free. It is in perfect condition and would be perfect for her. I am tired of the other chickens trying to sit on her and stuff while she is trying to hatch these eggs.

I will tell you all how it went. Sometimes she can be quite the crazy chicken.

For some reason the quail love to hang out with us. They sit on us and just chill out. Some of my chickens do this, but not all of them.

That sounds very nice. My quail would never do that. They are very nervous and panic whenever they see humans.
