I do!!
BINGO..You also may not hear them like you did with the first one. 36 is a little low, which would also cause them to be a little late.
It wont kill them being low though?? I am terrified of baking them alive!!
Phew!! I dont mind waiting an extra day or two! So maybe this little guy was in a hot spot which is why he arrived early? It would make sense actually! Brilliant.. Can I candle them now and them put a wet paper towel in for the humidity loss?
Here's what I would do, IF the bator has a fan, turn It off, then unplug the heating source. Open the bator, you want to do a ONE time Open. Take one egg at a time, Candle it, if the only thing you see is dark, That's good. but I want you to notice the Air cell, we need to know if that Air cell has dipped.
Dipping is when the Air cell is NO longer perfectly round at the top, it falls to one side. At day 28th it should have fallen, then you need to look to see if anyone is pushing on the membrane, if NOT them 24 hours.
IF YOU SEE membrane pushing, then take that egg to your ear and tap on the shell.. you should hear some noise. If no noise, then they haven't broken threw there membrane yet and will very shortly.
NO Wet paper towels, you have no clue what the humidity is right now, which is kind of scary because if it's at 80, they may not make it. They can do this with the humidity at 60-65, 70-75 is OK but kind of pushing it. but 80? All's I can tell you is I have lost 10 call ducks having my humidity at 80..
Because some of the bators are plugged in from the top, if you have the top off, what is the point of wasting the electricity? LOL, some will have a fan and when you turn off the heat source it will turn off the fan, if you keep it on, the fan will just blow all that hot air out, cooling the bator down faster. So to avoid loosing to much heat and humidity, you just turn everything off, open the lid, do your thing and get it all back on quickly... In this case, she said she doesn't know if it has a fan, so we have no clue if there is a fan or not so even if the fan isn't on the top, lets say its on the bottom or side, then when we take the top off, it's going to still be on blowing all that heat out cooling down the bator faster..I agree, I would candle to see what's going on, as long as there are no pips. But I don't understand turning off the bator. Especially if temp is already on the low side. Can you explain why?
