Hugs!
I still haven't had to and I am not looking forward to it. I am lucky that I have a friend here at work who processes, so my older culls can all just go to him. but I doubt he'd want to take a chick that wasn't going to make it.

I do know one guy that has a snake he has to feed...I have thought about bringing them in to him so I can help with the circle of life...
Wow! I have really began to think about what I will do when that happens. It is, of course, inevidable. As terrible as the thought of feeding one of babies to a snake, this would be a good idea. It would be super hard, but I absolutely despise the idea of the wasted life. That is probably the hardest thing about the culling for me. It is hard enough to slaughter the meat animals, but one that would not have something useful would be very hard.

The ones I owe Buff Laced Polish eggs they have started laying again. I have a few in the incubator to check fertilty. As soon as I find out if they are fertile I will start shipping those out. Hopefully by the first week in March. I have acquired more hens so hopefully more eggs. I now have 5 buff hens and 1 gold laced hen and 1 buff roo.

Hey everyone,

I have another batch of silkie eggs to ship out tomorrow. There are 36+ of em and I can do all of em for one swap or split them up for two swaps. If anyone is interested in them pm me with offers. I am interested in about anything, just ask. Thanks, Clarence
Cmon, I know someone wants these

I also have 7 turkey eggs that can go tomorrow. They are from my bourbon red pen which I have a BR tom, 2 BR hens, and 4 bronze hens so not sure who is laying

I want them, just don't have anything to trade and limited budget. Oh, and I've already filled the tabletop with turkey eggs for the move. Don't think I'd get away with spending another $35 on an LG just for these eggs for the move, lol.

I have a buttercup or a buff brahma you could take to her. They are both newly laying.
She would love either one. I giving her a barred rock, SFH, EE, and OE as well.
I am about 15 to 20mins off 95. I thought we were doing a parking lot drive by but my house is open if that works out better. (as long as you all promise not to be ax murders

I promise, no axes here! I don't think I even own one!
Man I know culling is necessary but it still makes me cry!

I know I'm doing them justice but its just heartbreaking. But less heartbreaking then watching them just die.

I hate when it's my fault as well!

I was banding chicks and one of the little buff Fav's started squirming like crazy an it fell out of my hand hit the table and then the floor. It seemed fine all day yesterday and last night but it was just laid peeping like in a ball. I looked it over and it looked like there was internal damage. Very dark blood/bruising in the belly area. I just couldn't take it. So I made the decision and culled it.

I know I did the right thing but man that's difficult stuff!

Does anyone want a couple of awesome, friendly and beautiful male runner ducks? I gave them to my nephews last summer along with a few laying hens. He loves the heck out of them, but they are both male and have taken an unhealthy interest in his chickens. They need a new home, maybe one with some pretty girl ducks? They are very, very handsome. I could meet you half way if you are in MN or WI. I would ship as well if you could help with the cost.

Here's my RIR story.

A friend was trying to talk me into getting RIR and I kept refusing. I had heard stories of the roosters being mean. Finally I gave in and got 6 juveniles. I still wasn't sold on them but figured I'd hang on to them for a while. As they grew, so did my passion for them. These are the calmest, friendliest birds. Often, I would go into the pen and they would fly up on my shoulder. I finally did some research into the line I have and found out the will be in the breeders family 100 years in 2014. I decided to get some rose comb RIR so I'd have both types so now I have two pens of RIR. I took one to a show in November and she was first place hen. Have I mentioned how much I adore my RIR?

I would take them in a heartbeat, but my incubator is full. Silkies sell for a premium here. I would list them in the for sale pages as a 1 day auction if there isn't any response on here.
