maybe posting this morning DID help...i hear peeping now!!!

oh and something else occurred to me (probably just wishful thinking but) this time I let the eggs roll to where they wanted to be before lockdown as opposed to how I usually insist they sit with the egg number facing up (so I can see). wondering if by letting them roll to where *they* wanted to be is cutting down on the rocking?! probably not, I'm probably just trying to make myself feel better.

I've read on here that marans take longer to hatch sometimes, like 23 days. I don't know if that's right, but that's what I've heard.

Okay, don't leave me in suspense. I ran across your post, started at the beginning, read thru today's and . . . well?!

I feel like I got to the end of a really good book and someone tore the last few pages out! Did any hatch? I've got 8 shipped wheaten marans eggs under a broody right now (13 days to go) so am very interested in how yours hatch out.

thechickonthehill - I wish I could end the suspense for you (and me) but nothing as of yet! day 21 today (9/25) and no pips yet. I did hear peeping a bit earlier today but am still waiting on some real action!
