Hello! Does anyone have any tips on how to increase the overall health of a flock of backyard chickens? We've had some trouble with lice and sour crop but in general everyone seems to be good. Does apple cider vinegar really work? what about DE? is there anything else anyone can think of or has tried that works to help there chickens stay well? Thanks!

DE is pretty worthless to treat parasites or anything else. I prefer plain clean water. Probiotics may be helpful to prevent crop issues. Poultry grsnite grit made available can help them digest food and grasses. For lice, get some permethrin garden dust or spray to treat every 10 days until lice and eggs are gone. Treat the coop after removing all bedding with permethrin 10 spray mixed with water according to the label, and used with a spray bottle or garden sprayer. Those are avialable at TSC and online.
