HELP!! 4 DAY OLD DUCK HAS SWOLLEN FOOT

Should I soak all their feet in the Epson salt? I'm gonna run to Walmart now and get some burn ointment...

This is all really good advice. Also if you use a burn ointment, make sure there is no pain relief stuff in it, anything ending with -caine. It can have a bad effect on birds.
Yep, that's a blister alright. They were burned somehow.

X2

Also, try not to pop the blisters... that'll open them up to infection and make them more sore... cool water just on the feet might help temporarily until you can figure out aloe or ointment...

Cool water, just the feet... and all aloe natural gel would be better than regular burn ointment... they will eat it off their feet...

@Pyxis any idea if aloe is toxic to ducks???

Aloe is safe for them, it's not toxic, so it would be great for these burns :) Strangely enough, it has also been shown to enhance growth in chickens.

Great! I thought so, but couldn't remember for certain... and I know how different species react differently to different 'safe' plants...

Ok so no soaking in Epson salt? Just cool water?

I wouldn't worry about epsom salt right now since the swelling is due to fluids from burn damage... I would just do the cool water, just not super cold or that can shock their feet and bodies...
